Dabei sind die Kunstwerke, die oft durch Hauen oder Schnitzen entstehen, noch viel mehr als das. Nach dem Fundort des ersten Tonkopfes im Norden Nigerias nannte ihr Entdecker Bernhard Fagg diese zuf\u00e4llig entdeckte Kultur &#8222;Nok&#8220;. Nicht nur wegen ihres hohen Alters, sondern auch wegen ihrer sehr menschlich dargestellten W\u00fcrde erinnern die Nok-Figuren an \u00e4gyptische Ausgrabungsst\u00fccke. Der Pfosten sollte die Dorfgemeinschaft vor Unheil sch\u00fctzen. Die \u201eEluba\u201c genannte Maske wurde nicht vor dem Gesicht getragen. Es handelt sich hier um eines jener afrikanischen St\u00fccke, die den Rahmen der Kunst des jeweiligen Volkes sprengen.<\/p>\n<p><b>Lwalwa: <\/b>Zu den Besonderheiten dieser \u201eNgongo Munene\u201c genannten Maske aus dem Kongo geh\u00f6rt der komplette \u00dcberzug aus Kupferblech. Dieses gesuchte Metall wie auch Messing galten im 19. Jahrhundert in ganz Zentralafrika als W\u00e4hrung.
